What Does The Logo Design Process Look Like?
1. Casual Meet n’ Greet
For us to design a logo that works for you, we’ll start by getting to know you first! Set aside time for a 1-hour casual meeting over coffee for us to learn about you, your business, and what ideas you have in mind for your logo.
We’ll also get to know your competitors, and learn what type of logo you’re looking for, your brand colours, and anything else we need to know to move on to the research stage.
2. Research + Concept Design
Now that we have the info we need from you, we’ll be busy researching and working on a concept design for your logo. We’ll spend a lot of time researching different design types, your competitors, best fonts and original design ideas.
Once our initial research is done, we’ll likely go for a walk in nature to be inspired and let our subconscious go to work. After all, we are surrounded by mountains and lakes, and outside is where the creative magic happens – not in a cubicle. Yup, we are creatives and think a little differently!
Next it’s time to return to the drawing board and sketch out as many concepts as necessary. We’ll continue evolving on those concepts, and after much fiddling, thinking, erasing, walking away, coming back, and drawing some more, we’ll come up with one that works.
Then it just comes together. We’ll take the winning concept sketch and digitize it on the computer. Here’s where we’ll refine the lines and overall design, convert it to a vector drawing (which scales without losing quality) as well as play with colours and fonts. Now we should be close to completing a first draft for your review.
We’ll probably fiddle with it a few more times though, sleep on it, and rework it again before we’re absolutely certain you’ll love it.
3. Review & Revisions
Ok we’re ready for the initial reveal. This is a big step! We’ll show you what we’ve come up with based on your input and goals.
We’ll have made sure to present you a logo that works across all mediums (print and web) and something you can be proud of.
With any logo there are always revisions, so feel free to share your feedback and be specific. Do you love the overall concept, or is it time to go in a different direction? We want you to be happy with the final product as your logo is going to represent your brand for years to come.
4. Package Files for Delivery
1 day
Now that we’ve got your logo finalized we’ll put the finishing touches on it and make sure everything is pixel perfect.
We’ll also package your logo files and provide you with a colour and black and white version, as well as vector logo files used for print purposes (.pdf or .eps). These files can be sent to a print shop to be used as signage, vehicle wraps, packaging, or whatever you desire!
We’ll also send you .jpg and .png files with your logo on white and transparent backgrounds to be used for website, social media, and any digital requirements.
You’ll retain all rights to your logo and have all the files you’ll need to put your logo to work for you!
5. That's It!
We look forward to collaborating with you to create a logo that works for your business needs. We value and look forward to your ideas and feedback and hope to establish an ongoing relationship for all your graphic design needs.
